There’s no better way to test an engine than putting it through its paces on the track, and that’s exactly what SCAT VW customer Jevon Olea did with his Porsche 912E.
After completing approximately 1,500 miles of break-in, Jevon brought his SCAT VW-powered 912E to Homestead-Miami Speedway in South Florida. Known as the home of NASCAR, IndyCar, and countless other racing events, Homestead provided the perfect proving ground for both driver and machine.
What made the day even more impressive was the competition. Jevon’s 912E was the only Porsche 912 in a field filled with Porsche 911s, including 3.2 Carreras, 964s, and 993s. Despite being outnumbered by higher-powered cars, the SCAT VW-powered 912E held its own on track, earning attention from fellow drivers who were surprised by how well the car handled and how effectively it kept pace with the rest of the field.
According to Jevon, the combination performed flawlessly despite the demanding conditions and South Florida heat.
“This was the ultimate test,” Jevon shared. “A lot of drivers were surprised that the car not only handled well, but also kept up with the rest of the field.”
Stories like this are what performance driving is all about—building a car, putting in the miles, and then putting everything to the test where it matters most.
We’d like to thank Jevon for choosing SCAT VW and for sharing his experience with the aircooled community. We’re proud to see our products being driven the way they were meant to be driven.
